After coming to college I've ended up spending a lot of time with "fob" friends. At first communication was frustrating sometimes because we would both have to think of other ways to say things that were already at a basic level. But I've come to appreciate their efforts to try and explain their thoughts and emotions that they could so easily say in their native language. There's something beautiful in human communication when it transcends language barriers. To be close enough to a person that you really desire for your friend to understand you instead of giving up and not trying.
Rereading what I wrote, it doesn't really make sense. But it's something that's been on my mind for some time.
